My Sacred RoseA Poem by AdarshMy sacred rose Draw me close Entrench me in your sweet grasp And fill my nostrils With your sublime dose For it is your fragrance That I crave. So fragile your petals, So slender your stalk, So enchanting your colour, And intoxicating your perfume. Intimidated be not by the Sun Nor even by the Gardener, While you rest under my gaze. Draw me to your bosom And expunge all my pain. Let me bask in your beauty, For it is where... My abode lies. But why these thorns? Why you gifted them to me? I had dreamt of blithe And not the pain Look, Now you make me bleed! Your scent I'd sought And sting I got But the sweet nostalgia remains As my heart-beats abate And I evanesce away.
