Futility of Love

Futility of Love

A Poem by Adarsh

When her blushing cheeks

That evoked a sigh

Will eventually pale,

When her caring words

That nourished your soul

Will cease to pour,

When her enigmatic gaze

That held you entranced

Will turn upon another,

When all your antics

To amuse her

Will be of no avail,

When thoughts of her

That kindled solace

Will only breed agony,

Then you shall sit

In abyss of despair and grieve

Over the futility of love.

This is a beautiful spin with wording about the reality of the loss of love. It feels very old world to me and I like that. It is always amazing how the love we feel can turn cold not only by our own change of season but how our own feelings can change based on the emotions of another. This is poetry at its finest, in my own opinion. Very nice work.

I like the story in the poem. Love will make us do foolish things. A sad ending to a excellent poem.
