Pernicious Struggle

Pernicious Struggle

A Poem by Adam Lebzo -RonninWarrior-

Tidings of woe I hold within
Behold the dreams, relish in the sin
Follow the shiver through your spine,
whisper to the wind that you were mine,

Sirens scream from the bacon top,
Declare to the world that Gods did sob,
Over what was once in color,
Over the hopeful wraith of a murderer,

In meekness I welcome the wave,
And with every hit I come to crave,
A portion of poison and ill,
To numb my passion and softly kill,

All that summons life to the sky,
All the seagulls that fadedly fly,
In slow motion into the line,
Of burning dusk, the bittersweet wine.

I enjoyed reading your poem and finding personal identification within it where I was able to. I am quite familiar with attempting to "numb my passion", as you wrote. Beautifully done.

shakespeare meets poe...you capture the darkness so well here...and do a wonderful job with the near rhyme.
