The Gaze of the Gorgons

The Gaze of the Gorgons

A Poem by Adam Lebzo -RonninWarrior-

Chilling quiver spreading through

Baleful clouds cradle the moon

Blackness covers all that roams

All livings  run for their souls

Scary sounds echo around

Sucking colour from the ground

Shuddery winds ramp within

The castle walls, the fiend’s din

Here it comes on crawling fast

Like hunting sins from the past

Hopeless to run or to hide

It’s closing in from all sides

Hissing specters dazzle me

Freeze my heart, petrify knees

Uselessly I try to fight

Dumb me could not realize

The great evil I’m amongst

Where doom creeps beneath its frost

Then I hear a stone crumble

As my heart inside tremble

Medusa stoned me and now I stand

A hollow statue amid the sand

a bad kind of "getting stoned"

i really like those last two lines...

you can't gaze upon the gorgon..but it is like that with some women...if we gaze upon them we are under their spell..
and their is not turning back, just a turning into stone.
