Chapter I

A Chapter by Adam Lebzo -RonninWarrior-

She was twitching with dread, up near the window of their room, been waiting anxiously for more than 4 hours by now, put her cell phone’s re-dial mode on, while praying for god. He doesn’t get that late usually, and never turned his cell-phone off. Moreover, he’s been acting amok for the last two days, just not being himself; all of that, gave beautiful, honeymooner, 22 years old Mary an excuse to be worried on her husband, Fred, As an affrighted petite Nightingale.

After Mary and Fred got married they moved from Fred’s place to a new house at the suburbs, ‘a perfect place to raise kids’ Mary said at a time, and with both of them at the glory of their prime, occupying very elegant jobs, Fred as the attorney General, and young Mary has her own Boutique which grew, thanks to her successful managerial ideology, to become the largest in the city, they lived quite an opulent lifestyle, one all of their friends and relatives envied them for.

It was quite a cold night, frigid actually, which made Mary even more worried. ‘Fred didn’t wear enough clothes to withstand such weather’ she thought to herself as she waited near that window while rain drops tormented the window pane and her weeping mind. Also, all the feminine obsessions any Scorpio signed lady thinks of, haunted her forcing her to stand up and roam the room with a horrifying leer dominating her face. Her hunch was so puzzled and confused, deep within, she just wished Fred would appear with a good excuse, or rather a trivial one so she may shout at him then lie amidst his arms and rest her solicitous cerebration.

Then finally, she saw a car pulling in front of their home. Although it was quite caliginous and stormy outside, but she can recognize that vehicle wherever she sees it, its tail and fore lights are part of her soul now, it’s the same car that she waited for anxiously whenever she had a date with young Fred, every minor details about that car’s appearance is curved in her memory. Furthermore, she was so passionate about Fred and anything related to him. Then without waiting for him to knock she sprang out of the room and leapt down the Villa’s stairs then ran with her heart, soul and ‘Temper’ towards the door. But before she reaches it, a strong slam plucked her heart out and made her retreat a few steps backward.

‘Mary! Open this bloody door!!’ An aghast voice shouted from behind the door

‘Who is it?’ Mary replied

‘It’s me Mary! Open it for the love of God!’ The voice answered back

‘Fred, is that you? What’s wrong?’

‘Whom else it might be? Mary please open up!’

‘Okay, babe! Just calm down a bit’ Mary replied with fear plucking her marrow as she ambled towards the door and unlocked it. Then dismayed Fred jumped in but his boots were muddied thus he slipped and bumped his head hard on the floor and faded out.
