Sonnet X - And so he withered…A Poem by Adam Lebzo -RonninWarrior-May our dead dreams rise again...He lay upon my bed so sick and pale Bemoaning all his life of dashing hopes I try to mend his wounds for no avail In his last breath, he surrenders and mopes
‘As I submit my soul, please forgive me! For all the bitter blood and sweet you shed On dim, drab road of life and agony Please forgive me! Here on my dying bed’
‘Please be at ease! We have done our best In this grim world, we fought so viciously But this is our fate, so lay and rest No man can ever change his destiny’
And so he withered, my redemption beam My once upon a time aspirant dream © 2013 Adam Lebzo -RonninWarrior-Author's Note
