MEMORYL DAY

MEMORYL DAY

A Poem by CajunPoet

Remember the many women and men
who now lay to rest, their names on gravestones,
fighting to defend freedom we enjoy
Their lips will never again get to taste.

Circumstances are constantly changing,
For our freedom they have given their life,
Patriots paying the ultimate price
So freedom reigns at the each day,

Blood, sweat, and tears the real red, white, and blue,
Spilling as it fills the lines of our flag
So proudly fly it every single day,
it embodies how far we've come today.

The rain falls hard this Memorial Day
As if tears of past present and future
always remembers fallen soldiers names,
freedom grows from the puddles that remain.
