Smile and WaveA Poem by CajunPoet
Struggling against currents of corporations,
I gasp for barely a breath between crashing waves, drowning me and washing away inspiration, I grasp at what’s left just before it's washed away, People all around me sit like corpses waiting, for instructions, critiques, maybe even a raise, Bodies hopelessly float in this ocean waiting It's all this hopeless game we're forced into playing, I break from the pack and the chains that surround me shatter into pieces on the ground at my feet, Resisting the flow makes whitecaps quickly retreat, I stand proudly in water a few inches deep. © 2014 CajunPoet |
