Falls Hard

Falls Hard

A Poem by CajunPoet

The rain falls hard waking the soil,
I cannot fight the fleeting sense,
Something’s gone terribly wrong.

Thirty minutes pass at your party
and still you’re nowhere to be found,
As the driving rain drives me insane.

Staring our into the stormy evening,
I faintly see many siren’s light,
And blindly run into the night.

Down the road an awful sight
like a coiled snake ready to strike,
a mangled wreck of twisted metal.

Drowning slowly in the pouring rain.,
while pounding first cannot break,
the window where I see your face.

Pain and anger I cannot control,
For this, my last memory, of you friend,
Stretched my rope beyond its end.

The fleeting moments as your life passed
From this world to another place
Your eyes roll back as my heart drops.

A peace I hope you find in death
As police grab me and pull my back
Your memory lives in my mind.

Such a sad day the rain has made,
but in itself such beauty portrayed.
It deserves respect that it is not paid.
