Chapter IV �" Alienation

 

„And second echelon!?“

 

„Closed! Admiral! All remaining points of entry have been sealed with additional security dispatched!“

Admiral Stanoyowski was controlling the flow of the situation at hand, something terrible had happened, which everyone thought- impossible.He stood over the main security terminal monitoring any movement with a team of highly trained surveillance experts.

 

„Stan.. What the..“

Kruger said tiredly intruding the room.

 

„Give me a SitRep 2-7.. How are the district areas.. Search the streets carefully.. He might already be inside..“

Stanoyowski said nervously checking his watch.

 

„Hey.. Stan.. What the hell's happening..?“

Kruger repeated looking around.

 

„Cmon.. Cmon.. We're running out of time.. S-7! Is Kestrel secure?“

„Solid copy sir! Kestrel is in no harms way, updating you by the hour as planned.. Sierra out“

Kruger approached Stanoyowski, and grabbed him by the shoulders angrily asking.

 

„STAN! Either you're f*****g telling me, why Im supposed to be afraid, for my little girl, right now!! Or I go out there and find out myself!!“

Stanoyowski was startled, and lowered the guards' weapons, and coldly answered.

 

„Jason.. You deserve nothing.. All this is happening because you failed to do your job! And keep Atlas off bounds from foreign scum! And this ignorance and arrogance..! This laying your arms down on a higher ranking officer, will get you killed one day!!“

Kruger slowly let go of him with an urge to punch him in the face, all he was thinking about then, was the safety of his own.

 

„THIS IS AN ALL OUT ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL ATLAS CITIZENS! DURING THIS TIME FROM NOVEMBER 12th TO THE DATE OF NOVEMBER 20th PLEASE REMAIN AT YOUR HOMESTEADS AT ALL TIMES! WARNING! THERE HAS BEEN A CITY WIDE INTEGRITY BREACH! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! WARNING! ANY ATTEMPT OF DISOBEDIENCE WILL RESULT IN LIQUIDATION! WARNING!

The city wide transition went off with a high frequency voice.

 

„F**k me.. This.. This is real...“

Officers stumbling upon papers on the floor, falling and nervously panicking. Everyone half shaven, interrupted in their casual Saturday morning activities, tennis matches, pilates. Ignorance and sloth turned them into opulent animals, not a care in the world, blinded by the peace of an entire decade. And now, this happens, one small defeat, one tiny glitch, one little man invades their perfect system.

 

EVERYONE STARTS LOSING THEIR MIND!

 

 

„Attention all sectors.. Clean Sweep operations are a go.. Green light- Alpha, Charlie, Hotel.. Let's go gentlemen! I want the streets gassed, and the Watchers out by noon!“

Stanoyowski said with a swift and harsh voice. Kruger approached Stanoyowski in a difficult matter again, he wanted something, a desire really hard to fulfil.

It was not long before Nethremayer stormed the command room, asking questions and reassuring security.

 

„Location of the entry point..!?“

She asked while going through personell files.

 

„Uknown..“

Stanoyowski said calmly.

„Time of entry..?“

She asked again.

 

„Uknown..“

He replies identically.

 

„Well what the hell is it!? Don't you know anything!? How in the world could he get in!? KRUGER!! Isn't this your juristiction!?“

She shouted at him, while he was deep in his thoughts.

 

„Damn it..! You..Just.. Uhh.. Calm the f**k down alright.. I was.. sleeping..“

Kruger said nervously.

 

„WHAT!? ARE YOU SERIOUS!? YOU ARE THE...“

She was interrupted by a calm impliance by Kruger to Stan.

 

„I want to go see Borisov!“

Kruger said assured.

 

„You..? Hahahaha.. You dog..! Get the hell out of here, and let me do your job!! Since you've obviously failed to do so! If you don't work on fixing this f*****g mess, the only time you're going to talk to the Chancelar is when you give out your last request!!“

Stanoyowski said noticing a fire in Kruger's eyes. They hated each other with no feelings aside, they wanted each other gone.

 

„You're enjoying this aren't you..? You truly are that low of a man..? Have you gotten senile Ivan? Shall I clear things up a bit for you? If you don't mind.. I was the one who stood up for your execution denial, back in the day! AND I SAVED YOUR A*S ALRIGHT! Now..! You f*****g listen to me! I need to go see Borisov and I need to do so now! I was comandeering the Harvester, callsign MURDOCH on our last expedition for whale fuel! And something strange happened! I can't explain it to you.. And that's why you need to trust me! If my information would lead to quickly solving this God forsaken mess.. We might be able to continue our lives normally.. Eh?“

Kruger said with great determination

 

„Ahh.. Always the savior.. The black knight.. If what you say can help.. We might be able to arrange a meeting.. Not for long.. But some time.. Don't pull any s**t Jason.. One hair out of the Chancelar's head.. And we're both getting court martialled to hell!“

Stanoyowski said showing the slightest respect and trust, to the man he resents the most. A heavily armed detail of six men, a special suit built to prevent injury to anyone while wearing it, and one headseat we're all going to be  assigned to Jason Kruger for his meeting with Chancelar Victor Borisov. It was set for next week of all the aftermath that was caused by that single event. It was always deemed as a catastrophe in the history of Atlas, and humanity.

3 Days Later

 

*Ring *Ring *Ring

 

 

„Hello.. Offensive strategics.. Kruger Jason speaking, who is this?“

 

„Em.. This is Pine Herman.. Fuel and energy processing.. We have a.. Situation down here.. I was told to call you.. Was told you were in charge on this.. And that eh.. You brought this specific specimen..“

Kruger's thoughts started running through his head and he was getting a feeling of anxiety.

 

„Er.. The whale?“

He asked with a bit of confusion.

 

„Well.. Erm.. Y-Yes.. The one from..Err.. I believe it was the Murdoch Harvest.. A few days ago..“

Pine said with nervousness in his voice.

 

„Alright.. Regarding what, have you decided to contact me?“

Kruger said calmly.

 

„Well.. I think..You better come down here, and err.. See for yourself sir.. It's quite disturbing.. Actually.. Best leave it to the professionals, I guess.. There's a..some.. blo..“

„Hello..? Hello?“

Kruger had already hung up and started making his way down there, he had disturbing thoughts, on what could be so urget regarding that whale.

 

„Alright.. Show me..“

Herman uncovered a plastic cover over the whale's head. An extremelly disturbing scene had been uncovered.

 

Kruger could not believe what he had just witnessed.

He kept staring at it for five long minutes, and finally spoke.

 

„You... You just.. Whatever your goal is.. Whatever it might be.. Destroying humanity? Ending us all... If you keep going on like this.. There is no hope for us...“

 

The scene that had been uncovered.

Was a carving.

From the inside.

To the outside.

It was a person.. Long gone..
