The safety in Darkness

Safe is the night, When the vermin do sleep,
Amongst this peace, I can truly think.
I can see in the dark, For the light is too bright,
It stings my eyes, Hides the truth from my sight.
It was all lies, they told me I would be warm in the sun,
All I get is a cold chill, I judgemental stare from everyone.
Should I conform to the way of the masses?
Crush everything I am under the weight of their sadness?
The smiles are pretend, I choose not a false face.
I prefer solitude over appealing to their taste.
Till the day when the individual is free,
I shall remain safe in the darkness that embraces me.
