Doctor man

Doctor man

A Poem by Acixs Rybout
"

I had an imaginary friend once, but I don't know were he's gone.

"
Doctor man

Dear Friend of mine
I know not of the reason you stay
But I am very happy you'll never go away
The others say I'm crazy
When I talk to you my dear
They act like they can't see you
You are something that they fear
We have great conversations
of how to make them pay
And in the end we always give it another day

Tall as a shadow in the setting sun
You sit by my side as noon bells are rung
We play games with leave and broken sticks
Today we are pirates riding in our pirate ship
The teacher watch us from afar
Looking kind of worried I wonder what happened
To make them all so hurried

Today is the day mama is taking me
To see the doctor man but I'm as well as can be
He gets this kind of funny smile when I mention you
And asks lots of questions til' he finally understands
No one else can can see the kind of friend you are to me

Today the doctor made me take a pill
But now I cannot find you
Are you feeling ill
Where have you gone your absence is scaring me
Friend
Friend
Please answer me

Today mother told me of a time when
I thought I had a friend as tall as building
That followed me around
But that concept is laughable
And foolish beyond doubt
The doctor says to take my pill
And keep my world round
