Winter

Winter

A Poem by Wraith.

Gliding in the recesses of night
Shots of fire align like seething embers reflected in glowering eyes
Black glimmering cloak that held me so tight
Flesh woven from stars I am rooted to the ancient earth
Transparent veins that crawl deep within the dirt
I am led into a mass of ivy leaves
where these lucid thoughts i had conceived
formed blooming fragments of a disintegrating mind
trailed away like ribbons fading into the sky

quite a collective of visions here, like a Geiger painting, deep rich and dark.

this has so many possibilities...
someone reaching the winter of life...nothing but nightfall, darkness, forgetting, fading into the sky...
but i also so a homeless person getting warm by garbage can with a fire....the mind disintegrating, but moreso the hope disintegrating...ribbons on packages containing what life used to be when there was money, status, success.
but now, just a mass of ivy leaves soaked in winter's skin.
