Autumn

Autumn

A Poem by Wraith.

Autumn falls rhythmic with my slumberous mood
The thick sludgy trail of its tentative terms
How thoughts so loosely chase each other around my head,
rotting leaves sweep gently over cavities in the earth
They throw up sickening icy chills which gnaw at my cheeks
and lakes surrounding churn malevolently without the confines of winter
to encase and seal them silently until they are lost under thin frames of ice
No, the dark waters brood and crawl under baring branches
Embers signal change in a cycle, pause before death?
Could it be the last of someone you have now lost
The moment they began to fade or turn and walk away
The nights where the winds lash out at bare oak
with hands that retort so fast before branching out again
The night treading heavily before time has adjusted itself
to the sullen veil smothering all with its lifeless darkness
Autumn is careless, shooing the chaos of summer
trudging slowly from the hatred of winter
There is no good intentions
Just a hand to say enough is enough.

Powerful words. Most people write such cliches about the seasons. This is very refreshing - great job! I wrote a few poems about autumn too, by the way. Check them out if you like.
