Ephemeral

Ephemeral

A Poem by Wraith.

As I ambled through the softer green
my stupor was woken slow
susurrous echoing through the riparian
under soft light a glistening glow
Serendipity altered my steady step
to an ethereal vision I fell entranced
besotted with it's dulcet flow
transfixed within a chatoyant glance
Gossamer wings caught in a gentle zephyr
Elusive in their halcyon haze
uninterrupted floating through labyrinthine wilder
lilting under violet rays
I remained frozen while the languor faded
A weaving that did cleanse my mind
redolent in it's drifting trail
instilling pity for the blind
wherewithal to it's wraith-like state
the darkness did soon descend
as it's frantic flutter calmed
I witnessed the butterfly transcend.

What a serene soft scene of nature you describe in the first few lines of your poem. So peaceful! Butterflies are very special to me and the imagery you employ to describe its flitting through space is absolutely breathtaking. Yes, I pity those who can not see such beauteous sites and experience the joys connected with them. A wonderful write! Lydi**

Love this one, it makes me think of Silent Enigma era Anathema, with their old beautiful melancholic melodies of doom. It stays with you, for a long time, making you think.... and the feelings that follow the initial slice of emotion create the subsequent chills, reminding you (if you ever forgot) of your humanity / mortality. Now: Images in the mind are created from the power of the words left behind...
