Sunday Afternoon...

Sunday Afternoon...

A Poem by Amy
"

You know what it's like when you're single and in love, right? I used to go over to his house every Sunday afternoon.

"

Sunday afternoon,
How you make me hum a sad tune.
Night after night,
I stare at the moon,
Hoping my love to come back soon.

My love for you exceeds all,
Oh, how I long for you after nightfall,
To hold me close, and make me feel safe as the rain falls.
The darkness, the thunder, I would fear no more,
As long as you hold me, oh, it is you I adore.

Our songs play, and my eyes are filled with tears,
I close my eyes, fall asleep, and it is you who appears.
You hold me tight, you won’t let go.
Then I awaken, and am filled with memories of long ago.
Long before that fatal blow.

I don’t care about anyone or anything, but you.
My love for you is so true.
I need you to come, I need you to rescue
Me from this world, this life,
With you, I would feel no more strife.

All I really want to say,
Is I hate you being away.
You are like my drug, my tattoo,
All I want to say is,
I love you…
