An Ordinary Love

Story of a guy getting over his previous love

“Doesn’t it feel different mate?” Dan said knowingly.

“Of course it does.” Chris beamed back at him. He did not feel the conviction of his words but Dan had not noticed.

Chris stared into his drink recalling the passion of the previous week. As he and Ria kissed each other, slowly moving up to his bedroom, they both knew where this would end and welcomed it. Chris had not made love for a year. The sex was clumsy, urgent and amazing.

That week he did not think of Anna at all. As Chris and Ria exchanged sweet nothings via text message there was a vacuum in the space once occupied by his lost love. Only the last few days he found his thoughts involuntarily returning to Anna, his mind wandering back to the things that had made her so special. She was pretty but not stunning with a hawkish nose and skinny visage. She had a quirky sense of humour and animated expressions. Individually these attributes did not make her desirable but for Chris collectively made her beautiful.

“So was it good?” Dan asked for a second time bringing Chris out of his reverie.

“Man, she was a pro” he replied distractedly.

“Now you can forget about that other silly cow...what was her name?” Dan asked rhetorically.

“Anna” Chris said realising too late it had been a jibe. “Yes finally I can move on” he added ruefully wishing for the entire world he could have her back.

When I read the title and what the content was about I thought at first that it would contain a little more feelings and that it was about the journey you make on the way to get over someone you loved. Despite my expectations I still liked this story. But I personally think that it was a bit confusing and not very "vivid" or "colorful" if you know what I mean. But like I said, thats just my opinion. Keep writing, your stories keep me interested. Well done

haha we all have something we need to practice. Hm I like the title you have now, but remember that it is the title that arouses people's interest so make sure that the content of the text match the title.
