Once a Poem for My Love

Once a Poem for My Love

A Poem by Ace Jaxon
"

This is a poem that relates back to my first poem "A Poem for My Love" It is the last chapter of the love I felt for that person, despite having it end a long time ago.

"

Your hand over mine made me think of love

Your lips against mine made me fall deeper

Your words were full of a striking calmness that no man should have heard

I feel lost without your love; I have for a while now

You strike me with every word and every silence

You never gave love

I loved you

Now I sit reading your words as they echo in my mind

From, threats to things you left unsaid

For, all the times we had and all the times we didn’t

I loved you

You made love into hate

Something so controlling

You were the victim at one point now the gun is towards me

Can I stop loving you

I have my freedom, friends, family

Can you just return the thing I gave so long ago

There’s someone I wish to give it to

Sometimes they say things that remind me of you

The difference is they don’t pretend to love me like you

They give their heart away, similar to me

I matter to me…

This is why loving you….

Can no longer be...

Author's Note

Ace Jaxon
As the description says, this is a poem to continue the first one I wrote. This piece was difficult to write, and it isn't my best work, but sometimes the one that means the most isn't the most beautiful piece in the world. I hope you like it, I've been busy trying to write a novel so I haven't been very active, but I hope to get back into the community here.
