Flight

Flight

A Poem by Ace Jaxon

She, a dove flying freely.
Held back by a broken wing and me.
Yet I set her free.
Me, a soul who held on for too long.
Gave my heart to her, who couldn't return the favor.
A love for someone I can't call mine.
Every single time.
A river, my tears flow.
Blocked by a beaver's home, all the things I dare not say.
They never seem to fade away.
I made it this way.
Helped dig my own grave.
In a world where love is  falling feather drifting way as the bird flys away.
Why must you take flight again?
Without a goodbye after I healed you.
After I let you go with her.
They say if you lover her, let her go.
It's so cold like experiencing winter all alone for the first time after summer.
Yet its hot and dry like a desert filled with sand.
An envelope sealed around a letter with hot wax.
Yet every time they always take flight before I even have a chance.

Many people come and go in our life. Some go on their own some we let them go and so on. But we can't hold what does not belong to us. Such an emotional metaphor used. The dove and the broken wing and the hurtful letting go... amazing....!!
