Bittersweet Waters

Bittersweet Waters

A Poem by Ace Jaxon

We left so bittersweet
A twist of tentacle-like emotions pulling me down with every reach
At this moment I'm tired of struggling, of losing oxygen
Tired of trying to breathe in the water and fight for a life with you
I'm choosing to survive, even if its a temporary peace of mind
It's suffocating
Loving when its never to be returned
The ocean gets darker every time
Every time I struggle it gets deeper and more bitter
I respect your choice to let me get swallowed by the waters
Allowing me to follow into the depths
And you respect my choice of silence
The agreement is sweet, but intoxicating
This ocean feels so deep and bittersweet

I'm glad you like it.
First of all, I'd like to say... I'm very impressed with the metaphor of the ocean that stays present throughout the poem. You weave that very intricately and correctly into the main theme of the piece. Very nice, Ace.
