News from the youthA Poem by Ace JaxonIt's long but give it a readI’ve been updating less and less Thinking a lot about the press What the meaning is behind the screen What it truly means to be on the TV All the talk of Sexual assault Mostly from adults What do I know I’m just a small-town city girl Around the parts I grew up in You hid in the bushes before you were jumped Seven kids in the corner speaking of rape While the rest sit there and debate Journalism, a pride and joy Why doesn’t anyone focus in on it Assault done to children by other children That’s the kind of world we live in We all shut our mouths and close our eyes Keeping quiet about the night Praying that we don’t lose it tonight One by one we all drown No longer having anything Jumped every other day Rapped every other night No means no, so stop the news We speak out about the church Screaming about the perverts No one noticing when it starts Some know, no one speaks It all started from when we were the children playing in the field Telling jokes and admitting we were of a certain orientation They always used it as the excuse, saying well you’re such and such They said we are the same, don’t fight a good thing So no one spoke of the other person in their sheets © 2018 Ace JaxonFeatured Review
