Outcasted Hero

A poem for my friend who needs to know that love is unconditional, and crying isn't a weakness.

Separated by the world

Outcasted by those in the circle

Rejected by the ones you thought loved you

Smacked in the face with realization

Told out front that you were hated

But that’s okay though it’s normal

Fallen to your knees surrounded by pain

Vision blurs just because of the culture

If memory serves you’re a fake

Not even true by your name's sake

Email after email you view yourself as weak

Stand up! Crying should be welcomed

Unwanted by you, Expecting hurt to come

When someone loves, it’s not conditional

Compliments were meant to make you smile

Not trying to hurt you, just know you are strong

Even if you cry and fall

It’s not weak to say, even heros grief

Strength is from knowing you’ve had enough

Soldiers have to heal, so allow yourself time

Never be afraid to say goodnight

Let go of your troubles and fly

The sky is yours and so is your life

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise
