Special

Special

A Poem by Ace Jaxon

You always find a way to give others the glory

Never realizing you need it more

Avoiding contact with those who give it

Not allowing others to give glory to you

Saying everyone else is special

Telling yourself you’re a toxic chemical

Listening to those who seek your attention

Letting their lies fill your head

You believed every word they said

The times when you thought you were special

Trapped in the graveyard along with the flaws you hide

Give yourself time, Why can’t you see

You’ve always been more special than me

Each one of us is special in our own way, but we don't see that ourselves. This little poem tells me that some people can only see their flaws and not the good points they have. I think that is sad, and your poem conveyed that sadness.
