Ungrateful

Ungrateful

A Poem by Ace Jaxon

I was told I was ungrateful

All I wanted to do was scream

Hungry, for a taste of love

Pushed and shoved

All I did was ask for some lunch

You said to me that I was wrong

You made me cry, I just wanted to die

Later I got some food

Instead of in my stomach

It found its way to the garbage

Ungrateful then, yes I was

But then again you made me think

“I’m not good enough”

Choosing to starve

Was the only way

You and I could agree
