love the reference to the Raven... an omen... certainly poetry is a bit of this representation but i must take exception with being scripted... poets bring to light all kinds of human darkness... poets shine a light on human courage and positive attributes.. poets aspire to do this in unique, provocative, humorous, biting, satirical ways... i think your poem is powerful... it demands a response... the last 5 lines are exquisite.. nice work says i

Thank you for your valuable interpretation, I greatly appreciate it, will be reading your work soon.
I like the flow of this one Squinks and it does hold some truth for us poets for sure, we often live in dreams of our own creation rather than reality, and capture the realities we find with words and sometimes shattered verse. I'm not sure if I've ever dreamed of raven poets before, but if I have I'm sure it would be a cacophonous event with feathered fantasy. Good job!

Wow, this is a really beautiful poem. What it says about living lives not quite our own...and the imagery...I really loved this poem and that may be, of course, that as a poet I can relate to this. It was really beautifully written.

I wasn't criticizing, i was saying I like that point.
Well you hit the nail on the head. I particularly liked the stanza, 'we live lives not quite our own' and 'we walk the world in words'. Those, to me, summarize what it means to be a poet/writer. I loved how succinct it was and yet, it embodied everything we are.

Great review, thank you for noticing the use of few words to state or express an idea.
