Fly

Fly

A Poem by Acatalepsy
"

Thoughts for those who I am afraid to hurt, but I am my own now and I must be let go.

"

Frozen in fear,

My eyes begin to tear.

Troubling thoughts begin to mumble,

Inside my head seemingly like a bumble.

The time is drawing near,

For me to cross over that pier.

Never forget the love you have given,

Despite all the anger that has risen.

Truthfully what seemed to be a loss,

Has turned out to feel like the end of a toss.

Dive into the ocean to swim with those who not only wander,

But seek the love and affection whom all shall ponder.

Scream that one day things will change,

Alongside others who are desperate for some kind of exchange.

You may be afraid for all things are new,

But that’s life and it’s time you learn a thing or two.

Afraid to offend those like you,

I promise not to bite off more than I can chew.

Respectfully so you may have done something wrong,

Involving a story you made up that I was forced to go along.

Finally I am free to do as I please,

Yet I hope you forgive me and not view me as some disease.

I only wanted to live my life free as a bird,

For I am not granted much time on this earth.

None of us are considering our worth,

Though life for me was a mistake from birth.

Mom never wanted me from the start,

However grandma viewed me as a thing of art.

Not to be taken for granted,

Rather somewhat enchanted.

But it is time for the Woman that is I,

To be set free and allowed to Fly.

This was a very nice, deep incite on life. A good lesson for those who struggle with identity. Shows that you are indeed strong and willing to be fragile at the same time because it all makes you a person of worth.. Write on..

I see why you posted such benevolent poem! Such freedom and endless triumph, fly girl, FLY! Spread the wings you've grown so slow, let the halo above you glow, fly away with wings of white because you stay strong within the fight.
