Thoughts of an Anxious Exile

Thoughts of an Anxious Exile

A Poem by Abraxasbird

A choir sang once upon a time; before there was light, before the blight of a savage human people,

before tribulations were set in stone for the fallen angels of a once united heaven

A congregation rejoiced once at the jubilation of the devotion of their youth, the prominence of their future,

the brilliance of those and the brilliance of their boldness.

and for all that, the disarray of today is a cadaverous remnant of that jubilee, of those songs of yore..

The present now, is a looming dark shadow in the winding caverns of a precipitous grotto.

all the while braving the trechearous trail of tears layed before the masses, the lemmings, the cannibals,

a glimmer of malice blooms in the distance, menancingly beseeching the past to move towards its crimson glow..

i see a row of fangs..

dripping with intent, panting with impulse

it is not safe here

The bars will only hold so long

I feel the pangs..

rushing through the veins that unite us

who we are, is now so wrong

once beast, now man
