Rose [towards the light]

Rose [towards the light]

A Poem by Abraxasbird
"

Of an abandoned path...

"
As you walked your path,
when you stopped to admire
that sweet smelling
deep dark
red rose,
why did you abandon?
You stood, stared
drank in the sight
as day became night
pleasure pain
anticipation fright
that rose bent
towards the light
and still
you stood, stared
and drank in the sight
it looked so pretty
it looked so strong
it looked so resolute
it looked free
it looked happy
it looked like you
that deep dark
red rose
as
you stood, stared
and drank in the sight
of time cultivating
a delicate, fragile
forest,
rather than a tree.
