The Unsettling Sleep

The Unsettling Sleep

A Poem by Nicole Marie

It wakes me and
I rise--

I comprehend
the glow of
the outside

It is Silent.

the accurate forms
of snow
drift and quiver

Crusted slopes of
Thoughtful design

This be their insistent flight.
This, their song, unearthed

The uncertainty of Perfection.

lovely, yet eerie.
i get the image of waking up in the middle of the night, and staring out the window at snow falling.
you say a lot with few words.

Interesting imagery. Thought-provoking. Visions of birds in flight or sleep in flight. Hard to catch either one. Good work.
