I'd Rather BeA Poem by AblazeThere's no place like home
So here I am standing straight
The night is cold and so I wait Do you know what I'm here for? Things are not as it is before I've been there and so did thee I only wanted to be free I had fled without a clue It's a way for me to be true I used to look on that sky Without doubts and reasons why The warm rain keeps on pouring Through my face as I am frowning Now, I wander for a while I have faltered a thousand miles The strangest breeze are howling Through my heart that aches and crying A wondrous place they called home It felt a little monochrome Is it there, where I should be? Will I really find the real me? I knock the nostalgic door Someone opened and I felt sore A smile painted on a face Left me hanging without a trace Laughter and cheers in the air It warms my heart to know they care The place where I am me At home is where I'd rather be © 2016 AblazeAuthor's Note
