"So there I was taking a group-tour bus up to gorgeous Flushing-Meadows (NY), where the '92 US-Open men's Round of 16 would see two giant legend titans of men's pro-tennis fanfare, real champions of the game of completely opposite style (the cool hard Lendl and the wild streakish Becker) find epic TV-age contest superstition for American Homeland flair for fare (wow)."

"There's nothing like watching the great Ivan Lendl tackle a brilliant opponent with seemingly no sway/swerve in emotion or outlook, completely maintaining all forms of personal cool and steady relentless focus despite any kind of variance, style, creativity, or emotion exhibited/boasted by the opponent. In this case, that '92 opponent/challenger in Flushing-Meadows (NY) was Boris Becker, the essential genius-wild man of men's pro-tennis fanfare, completely the opposite of the cold Lendl. This was epic contest, and this micro-rivalry made for epic outcome(s), and it was a 5-set saga for the books, and Lendl pulled-out that eventual/miracle after losing the 1st and 3rd sets to Boris in hard-won tiebreaks but keeping the 2nd set and then stretching out to 'snatch' the 4th-5th sets with unnerved calm (6-3, 6-4). Wow, it was a NY-key moment for this young man (me) for my eventual sports-writing career (ha)."

"My name's Amlan Satan, and I'm a Slovak-Algerian Bostonian-Catholic immigrant/citizen/patriot of the American Homeland and avid tennis/sports fan and thought this '92 US-open men's tennis Round of 16 'stunner' for Lendl-Becker rivalry storyboards was the idealized image to 'catch' for bus-tour trip to Flushing-Meadows (NY) for my emerging media/Selfie age of lifestyle 'linked' incomplete-arts of social activity share for records/fantasy."

"That 1st-set in NY went to Boris in tiebreak fashion (6-7/(7-4)) as did the 3rd (exact same scoreline), making me wonder if Ivan had that reliable 'cool' to stretch out to command the court in Flushing-Meadows to (simply) find those brain-nerves to make for consistency and trained/practiced linear-shine for pro-tennis fanfare/freckles. He did, and it made this fan (me!) think why a future write about this US-open key-moment for American records would invoke some ghost-magic 'feel' of things of swiftness, net-dominance, strike-return stat, and simple ball-and-racquet shade for jagged-edge thorns (wow). I'd write somehow that I imagined I was Ivan that day in New York, commanding a cooled-quarter over that fiery insane Boris (of Germany)."
