![]() 2-Cards: Martian Charactery (Football)A Story by Abishai100![]() Capitalism/sports marks cards/collectors/musketeers as Martian-envy faces for an Earth world labyrinth.![]()
A sports and trading-cards culture vignette. Thanks for reading,
---- ==== Amlan and Marcus had become professional bank robbers in the American Homeland but in the sidetrack entreated their special/secret fascination with football sports trading cards collecting and had amassed a pretty gorgeous set of culture/sportsmanship/contests reflection treasures for Western world jars (for the Ego). ![]() They especially liked their two culture-reflection TV-iconography football cards, one a college-football culture NBC-TV imprints Fighting Irish QB-card of great sportsmanship-windows commentary for student-life 'access' in the West; and the other a Thanksgiving-TV football culture imprints Detroit-QB rookie-card of Super Bowl premonition and 21st-Century vanity (autographed no less). ![]() MARTIAN: Greeting, heroes. AMLAN/MARCUS: You hacked into our cyber-email portal, stranger. MARTIAN: I'm a male, hiding underground, on the Red-Planet, ha. AMLAN/MARCUS: You claim you're a Martian but want our email-eye now. MARTIAN: I know you're bank robbers, as I've spied on your emails, heroes. AMLAN/MARCUS: We're not just street-fools; we're vigilantes for eco-image. MARTIAN: Yes, yes, I know of the blood diamonds work you do in America. AMLAN/MARCUS: Conflict-zone gems from Africa are now black market woe. MARTIAN: Yes, Palestinians (etc.) are in on the malaise; warlord-diamonds. AMLAN/MARCUS: We're good at what we do...alternative to Interpol (etc.). MARTIAN: I contact you not as an authority-figure but for your sports-cards! AMLAN/MARCUS: What, our Irish and Lions football cards, Mr. Mars? MARTIAN: I've made 'mark' of you as very-special illusionists (Facebook-like). AMLAN/MARCUS: What? ![]() Amlan and Marcus were shocked a Martian was spying on them somehow! What did the Mars-man want (with them)? It seemed to our protagonist 'antiheroes' (Amlan/Marcus) that the Martian spying on them wished to make 'mark' of them as capitalism-illusions stenographers for an Earth realm civilization/culture imaging (for the Ego). Maybe the Martian (if that's what he actually was!) wanted to compare Red-Planet/Blue-Planet investment-jitters for things of leviathan/uncertainty, for a fortune-teller's joust tell (hmmm). ![]() AMLAN: I'm a married man now, Mr. Mars (secrets). MARTIAN: And you, Marcus (hmmm)? MARCUS: I'm dating a Boston-town waitress, stranger. MARTIAN: What's the investment-line for your Robin Hood lives blended cards? AMLAN: We seek to cast ourselves as cyber-reps of sports linked with safety. MARTIAN: I read of that Boston Marathon (bomb) tragedy, heroes. MARCUS: What do you want with us, Mr. Mars? MARTIAN: I want you to craft a fiction-tell...an 'angel' investor on Mars. AMLAN: You want a biopic (secret) about Martian interest in football. MARTIAN: Now, you're thinking (of me)...but keep my 'IQ' a (dark) secret. MARCUS: I get it, yeah...we cook, and you pardon our Earth for frailties (ha). MARTIAN: Good luck (Facebook-like). ![]() Amlan married his high-school sweetheart (Ezzy) some-time ago, and post-contact with 'Mr. Mars' by (secret) email he decided to concede to that stranger requisition to craft a fiction-culture tell about earnestness for commerce-society and sports-walls for risk superstitions. He thought it was Pulitzer-caliber (sure). He never told Ezzy the secret of the Martian investor/inquirer. The work, titled Diamonds & Downs, was written by Amlan and ornamented by pal Marcus. Amlan wondered if this entire 'crusade' was some kind of investment jar for treasures/insurance hyperbole. Maybe the Martian 'moved' Amlan to think less like Robin Hood and more like Howard Zinn (ha). ![]() "Doing well is the result of doing good.
