Haddonfield Spectacle: PhantomA Story by Abishai100Two affable Americans of Haddonfield make specter-sighting contour words for Homeland superstitions of sharing jitters.
An American Homeland fright-tale for the new year. Thanks for reading (stay safe),
---- ==== AMLAN: Did you see that news about all those Western fires (Cali), neighbor? MARCUS: Sure did, pal....there's good Rationalism for safe-life in our area! AMLAN: Haddonfield's a charm for the records, neighbor (ha). MARCUS: Didn't you live in Cali for some time, while in school/exchange? AMLAN: I met a host of quite lovely Americans, neighbor...sad news now. MARCUS: Wildfires seeping into Cali and disorienting everyday life is IQ. AMLAN: Haddonfield's a charm, neighbor...God's with us (all). Amlan and Marcus were enjoying their Sunday afternoon coffee in a Haddonfield area shop while talking football TV and thinking about the horrid news of wildfires in California destroying property in '25 and wondered if it was some omen of Earth signaling a humbling need to focus on the fortune of safe-life in their small Eastern town of Haddonfield-USA (sure). They spotted a stranger specter figure, of a cloaked woman, seemingly from an older time on Earth (somehow) and followed by some smoke or mist; and they had to conclude she was a ghost only they were seeing, some spectacle! AMLAN: Well, it's Halloween, and 9mos. since that spectacle of shock, pal. MARCUS: We've become neighborly pals and coffee-talk men of Sundays, ok. AMLAN: Do you remember that ghost of Jan.-'25, neighbor? MARCUS: We're sure costumed as American Homeland jesters this October. AMLAN: It's Halloween Eve, and no spectacle in Haddonfield streets seen! MARCUS: That specter we saw...I named her a Phantom...in view of Hell. AMLAN: Maybe she was testing something...wanted us to be patriots. MARCUS: Facebook-like (God's traffic). "Doing well is the result of doing good. That's what capitalism is all about" (Ralph Waldo Emerson). ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2025 Abishai100 |
