I was contemplating a billiards triumph against my father at a timeshare vacation spot in New England when a Martian inquisitive about my Selfie-consciousness contacted me, curious about my place in capitalism culture and Facebook-psychology!

The Martian hacked into my cyber-portal to ask me about this billiards 'examination' between fathers-son, after he/she/it read my cyber-blog about how pool and contests thinking invoked this special languages of negotiations concerning risk, aim, fortune, talent, luck, education, interest, and perhaps even capitalism reflection for the oddball qualia of Earthling images of self-wrought dialysis (wow).

MARTIAN: You say you hesitated from writing about this pool triumph, sonny?
ME: Well, it was won against my father, who was a great billiards-man (sure).
MARTIAN: You got lucky, and you combined some nice last-turn angle shots of skill.
ME: I felt fortunate, after sinking my last 3 balls, after dad missed his last ball.
MARTIAN: He had 4 balls left, you had 3, and he missed his last shot (wow).
ME: I completed the turn, and I explained I always practiced in my frat-basement.
MARTIAN: You were in a college fraternity, eh?
ME: The Gate, Ivy League school...I used to play in front of girls (for the magic!).
MARTIAN: Why'd you write about college fencing before you wrote about pool?
ME: I wanted to think about contests not against my father (honestly).
MARTIAN: That's exactly what drew my interest with you, Earth-man (ha).
ME: Selfie-like?

I explained to the inquiring Martian that I wrote about my school fencing rivalry with a cross-town university and how I excelled at that art of swift footing and pseudo-athletic sword-play and why I chose to think deeply about fencing instead of that timeshare triumph against my father in billiards (ha). I told the Martian my framework for Selfie-consciousness was motivated by my school readings of Turgenev, Wharton, and others...a sportsmanship sense of the 'culture' of Earthling ambition/superstition. The Martian was curious about my Selfie-sense of 'chess' jitters (hmmm).

MARTIAN: You should write a book about this exchange, the ideas, man.
ME: Why's that, Martian?
MARTIAN: Maybe this kind of storytelling infuses life with doubt.
ME: That's rather true, me thinks (ok!).
MARTIAN: Take care not to overthink why fencing freed you from pool.
ME; Why's that?
MARTIAN: Those school girls cheering you at billiards would appreciate it.
ME; Why's that?
MARTIAN: Earthling consciousness concerns chalk, my case-study, prince.
ME: I guess you're right...farewell.
