A Holiday ChanceA Story by Abishai100Portrait of holiday-conversation and emotion (and Thanksgiving-sports) that make for Homeland (American/Earthling) chandelier.
A human emotions/customs vignette for the holidays. Thanks for reading!
---- ==== Well, I had found some special challenges cleats through the tribulations of the 21st-Century American Homeland, in Boston-town, during the Coronavirus, when my divorced me, and I decided to remarry; and then I decided to visit her during the holidays (Thanksgiving) in the Windy-City (Chicago) to have dinner with her new hubby, and I brought my new wife. This was something of an Earthling languages lines for balance-sheets and intrigue of emotions for me (Facebook-like). Follow along! My wife, Shelbye, remarried (a lawyer) who moved her out of Boston-town and into the Windy-City. She became a Bears fan, and I remained a New England sports cheer-man. My new wife, Esmerelda, agreed to spend this next Thanksgiving at Shelbye's, and to meet Shelbye's new man (David). This was to be Selfie-life, but Thanksgiving had always been a balance-sheet for those cleats of field goals (for the Ego!). SHELBYE: Thanks for invitation accept, ex. ME: Of course, Shelbye. SHELBYE: Esmerelda's lovely, ex. ME: I call her Ezzy, Shelbye (thanks). SHELBYE: You and David seem to get-along, about football-TV. ME: He seems to be intrigued by the '24 Lions-Bears theater, Shelbye. SHELBYE: You're a Lions-man for the holidays, right? ME: Since you're a Bears newbie, you'd imagine (ha). SHELBYE: David said Esmerelda ('Ezzy') seems rather bubbly. ME: It's the champagne (Facebook-like). We watched the Thanksgiving Chicago parade (TV) and pre-game time for holiday-football (Lions-Bears), David and I made a bet. If my team won, he'd buy us all pizza for Friday's Eve; but if the Bears won (somehow!), I'd get us champagne on me for Saturday's Eve. Who'd win? Suddenly, this holiday-gathering for TV and customs and human emotion took a turn for the pensive and not only bubbly...but it was past that time of tribulations in the Homeland (at least). This was Selfie-like. Two years later, I'm spending Thanksgiving alone, having divorced my 2nd-wife (Esmerlda), when she decided not to endorse all my New England sports-stuff for writing (damn). However, I'd look back on my failed marriages (to Shelbye/Esmerelda) with a cool '24-Thanksgiving memory of what made holiday-football, TV and gathering, and Selfie-culture a special 'ghost-magic' for wrought superstitions...of change (sure).
