Television-Charm: Earth/QualiaA Story by Abishai100Portrait of what makes competitive baseball commentary/readings reflections for American Homeland culture consciousness coloring (for all).
Sports windows 'culture' diorama. Inspired loosely by Bull Durham (Kevin Costner).
DISCLAIMER: This work of sports fanfiction offers no ties to any person(s)/body (e.g., Cal Ripken, Jr.) and all images/references used herein therefore comprise a purely 'personal' expression for social arts (for 'open' reviews/interpretation). ---- ==== So, I got myself a Cal Ripken card, a real American Homeland sportsmanship culture trophy and was asked by a cyber-reader post-post why I chose this particular athlete as some contest-windows representation of excellence in TV-modernism. He'd won 2 Golden Glove Awards, 19 All-Star bids, and 2 AL MVP titles. Cal also earned a World Series title ('83) with his Orioles force, defeating the Phillies 4-1. However, Cal Ripken also holds the all-time record (still!) for most consecutive baseball games played, earning the title 'Iron Man' of sport; the defining quality of his celebrity-status (surely). I thought of my Selfie-age of lifestyle commentary for transit and American Homeland image, and why Cal Ripken is surely a great achiever in sport/baseball for TV-modernism; but I also thought his 'Iron Man' title made him that definitive Earthling diplomat-man for that quality of mortality-superstitions that make social media life a reflection of citizenry-chronicles (hmmm). GIRLFRIEND: Cal for mall. ME: Surely; diamond watch for you. GIRLFRIEND: American fortunes, cool. ME: Cal had it all, yeah! GIRLFRIEND: How's your baseball novel concept coming along? ME: Reminds me of capitalism's arms-for-theoreticals. GIRLFRIEND: Cool. So, by the time Xmas-consumerism season came, I made myself a stick-figure shoppers-doodle avatar ("Evil_Elf") to remind myself why baseball, competition, capitalism, American Homeland 'consciousness' and the bread/fruit of TV-modernism reflects my Selfie-age of incomplete-distances readings for the leviathan/uncertainty of life's (very-special) threads (for all). "Doing well is the result of doing good. That's what capitalism is all about" (Ralph Waldo Emerson). ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2024 Abishai100 |
