Ciao Italia: The Soccer Physics

A fan notes his special interest for image of the 'cool' 1982 World Cup featuring a 'cool' Italian gum.

A nod to Italy-soccer fanfare.

I was making a special '82 World Cup diagram highlighting the greatness of that special Paolo Rossi manned Italian national team that shocked the world with pronounced/close wins over great power-clubs including Brazil, Argentina, and West Germany, and I realized I'd become something of an Italy-soccer writer, despite my Asian/Algerian backgrounds in the sports-fan friendly town of Boston (Selfie-like). Follow along.

Well, it's not just soccer that makes Italy great. There's much history (Rome), and literature (Virgil, Dante), and cars (Lamborghini), and of course that amazing world-circulated cuisine (Olive Garden); and I knew Boston-town would be intrigued by my soccer-write, given its educational landscape with great schools/universities, and American investment-lines for college-soccer laurels in its history/record (sure).

Rossi was something of an underdog captain for that '82 Cup team that shined despite anticipations of other teams making it through to champions-level greatness, and it was Rossi's steady-cool and precision and cutting and assassin-like creed that made the Italian national team part of the world-history image of World Cup fineness. It wouldn't be until 2006 when Italy would once-more catch Cup greatness, when Francesco Totti's focused force downed Goliath Zidane's French unit in that cool penalty-waged final (1-1, 5-3). Yes, that 1982 year made Rossi an Italian map face (for the Ego).

GIRLFRIEND: A Swedish car, despite the Italian taste for me?
ME: I couldn't afford the Lamborghini yet, darling.
GIRLFRIEND: That's fine; I like Swedish autos, babe!
ME: It's a safe car, it will get you around good; I'll be happy.
GIRLFRIEND: I'll reward you with homemade potato-soup (Valentine's).
ME: Of course, we could always reach to Olive Garden (ha).
