Porcelain: Think-CheckA Story by Abishai100Husband narrates his tale of how porcelain may become some gifted magic for his troubled wife, an alcoholic, in a bound-Romanticism image for what's a touchdown.
An unusual value-tale loosely drawn from the iconic story, The Gift of the Magi, which I think you'll like,
---- ==== I was thinking of the perfect gift for my bride for Valentine's Day and promised myself to get her regular gifts of porcelain, not necessarily expensive, for our (shared) Selfie-age of consumerism/life drawn everyday behaviors of social image fun, given porcelain material double-value of fragility and beauty (sure). This would be Facebook-like (surely!). ESMERELDA: Porcelain, for regular gifts, for my alcoholism, eh? ME: You've broken 5 so far, and I'll keep getting them for you/us, Ezzy (sure). ESMERELDA: I'll break the next one...I'll keep this weird green one; I like it! ME: Good, and each one you break, you contemplate the loss; it's not disaster. ESMERELDA: Because it's porcelain, darling (hmmm)? ME: Think about yourself (frailty/continuity)...not just me. The magic act worked, and it teased out her resentment with a pseudo-humor language for adjectives (wow). Esmerelda was shockingly pleased, and it was all about the porcelain, not necessarily as fragile as glass, but surely representative of our (shared) Selfie-age of life-linked comments/consciousness for everyday behaviors...and home-life too (damn). Maybe this porcelain duality of gifting/breaking/continuity saved our marriage and helped her (Esmerelda); she finally decided to seek therapy for her condition, and for one session had decided to take with her a porcelain vase (wow). This was almost Facebook-like. "Doing well is the result of doing good. That's what capitalism is all about" (Ralph Waldo Emerson). ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2024 Abishai100 |
