Specter of a Market: Photo-GraphA Story by Abishai100Portrait of haunting, but perhaps of the mind itself.
Ghost-story. Happy weekend, all
---- ==== I was visiting my local super-market, usually on Saturdays, and I encountered the vision of a lovely-lady and took a side-view snapshot of her shopping while photographing some flowers for my personal postcard prints and ended up showing the image of the American woman to a friend of mine who happened to be a policeman (Selfie-like). COP-BUDDY: I know that girl...she's dead! ME: What's it? COP-BUDDY: Yeah, she was killed in a drunk driving accident! ME: What's it? COP-BUDDY: You've been shopping at WalMart drunk, bud. ME: What's it? COP-BUDDY: You're seeing some specter, perhaps from a TV-news story, man. ME:What's it? COP-BUDDY: You need a psychiatrist, despite your Catholic sanity, pal. ME: What's it? Geez, my cop-pal was right (about me!). I'd been seeing the specter of a ghost-lady at the super-market I frequented, and it wasn't because I was inebriated in any way. Perhaps she was haunting American consumerism streets-feel for some reason. Whatever the reason, I had to talk to her. She'd always wear this Coronavirus-mask, and I thought she was attractive and worked up the courage to confront this ghost (Selfie-like). When I walked up to her, I whispered, "You're very beautiful." She turned very slowly, took off her mask, smiled, and then she gave me a postcard-image print of ghosts dancing or something. I kept the print, but I didn't show it to my cop-friend who had told me of that very-same woman turning up deceased in a car-accident (wow). I kept the print, but I decided not to pursue the vision of the super-market girl anymore. I never saw her again. To this day, I wonder if she was a woman of romance...or a specter for doubt (for the Ego). "Doing well is the result of doing good. That's what capitalism is all about" (Ralph Waldo Emerson). ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2024 Abishai100Reviews
