AMLAN: Arles is a town I considered visiting in college on an exchange-study.

RAKI: You mentioned you opted for some California excursion instead, pal.

AMLAN: Pre-route to my now defunct work with gov't-specter work, Raki pal.

RAKI: Now, we're both ex-intelligence 'Ronin' of Earth, wandering as mercs, ha.

AMLAN: Baroness Endymion's employed us for French toast and diamond game.

RAKI: We swap an Ion-co. set of jewels (blood-diamonds) and make road-chase.

AMLAN: Ion's minions will make for bad Facebook-gem ads languages, yeah?

RAKI: Selfie-like (fine).

Amlan and Raki did the right stuff at the Arles (French) store where Ion's rumored/insured blood-diamond pieces set jewelry were the language of modern world smugglers black market exploitations and rogue finances (for arms?) laughter, all for their mysterious femme employer ('Baroness') who made some pre-Olympics consumerism ads-infiltrations arms for eco-capitalism commerce media and fiction (wow).

Nothing was special about Arles, where Van Gogh made his living for some-time, despite Amlan's yearning to retire and seek non-merc life as a simple merchant or something, but first he had to make this road-adventure with Ion's gargoyles tracking the two 'heroes' who lifted the Ion-pieces with ease and water-rifles filled with acid; Raki proved to be an excellent driver; Amlan wondered if he was trained by the CIA or was still CIA (hmmm).
