Arles Defender: LinesA Story by Abishai100A Euro-roadways chase makes for a French 'toast' Rationalism for ex-intelligence with a mystery-lady employer with a roadways-languages for dodecahedrons.
A merc-adventure set in Europe and inspired by Ronin (John Frankenheimer). Thanks for reading,
---- ==== AMLAN: Our lady-employer (anonymous) has French toast ties to the UK, Marcus. MARCUS: This roadways chase for diamonds has me thinking gem-IQ journals. AMLAN: Diamonds are easier to move, sell, insure, transport, hide, exchange. MARCUS: You're not Ronin...you're not ex-intelligence merc without master! AMLAN: Ha, relax Raki-man; Ronin never have that opp for Selfie-lines (ok?). Amlan and Marcus got into their 'borrowed' mod-gem white-auto and sped-off with Ion-company treasures and were immediately tailed by a fleet of Ion gargoyles, requiring Marcus to use his acid-gun to spray advancing tires while Amlan was moved to invoke his old-life speed-chaser skills with great twist/straightaway dodecahedrons (for the Ego!). When the chase ended, and Amlan/Marcus emerged alive and flourishing, they decided to make 'toast' of their micro-miracle as Ronin (displaced, sometimes 'misplaced' warriors of Earth with a lost/forgotten master or head-of-state) with some onion-soup and croissants with nice Euro-butter. Would they find good commission for their likely-forgettable heroics in Arles (Facebook-like)? EMPLOYER: You wanted helmets for 'field' goals and express regrets as Ronin? AMLAN/MARCUS: At least we're not town-up bank-robbers for meaningless life! EMPLOYER: Ha, perchance I'll disclose some of my London-Bridge work (gems). AMLAN/MARCUS: Diamonds are forever, mystery-lady. EMPLOYER: Super Bowl fans (Facebook-like)? AMLAN/MARCUS: We liked those Bud-Bowl (ads), thanx. Well, our protagonist 'antiheroes' made some nice treasure-chase and conferred with their mystery-lady employer that Ronin-life on Earth simply required a cool-confidence for their media-age of distances in bureaucracy...and art!
