The Quadratic Inn

The Quadratic Inn

A Story by Abishai100
"

A stay at an iconic (American Homeland) hotel invokes in a pensive-man a special hospitality-reading line for the languages of dowry.

"
A homeland-hospitality (breakfast) portrait.

I was given a special summer vacation package and decided to spend it entirely in a special hotel where I'd simply order room-service and watch TV and drink wine, and during that stay at this 'inn' of the American Homeland, I started to think and dream (as an Algerian-American citizen/Catholic) that a hotel-haven stay (temporary) drew in me some special Selfie-consciousness for everyday magic found in transit's securities, and I felt blessed to feel American, living in the States (damn).

GIRLFRIEND: You're emailing me from your suite during your vacation?
ME: Why not, Esmerelda?
GIRLFRIEND: Well, me thinks this is some desperado-boast for comfort-food.
ME: I do love you.
GIRLFRIEND: When you get me that opal-diamond piece, I'll believe you.
ME: That's a (super) vision...thanx.

On one glorious morning-day, I felt the ghost-memory of my departed father (Emit) who suffered from alcoholism. I decided, at this 'inn' of the American Homeland, that memory-transcendence for valor or violet-calmness simply required some incomplete-distances readings for the comforts found in everyday magic in the States...a zesty and fun breakfast (Facebook-like).

ATTENDANT: Here's your plate for this glorious breakfast, sir.
ME: Wow, corned-beef-hash, Indian fried fish eggs ('caviar'), jam, and veg-juice.
ATTENDANT: Breakfast of writers.
ME: How'd you guess I was a writer, pal?
ATTENDANT: You had the demeanor of such...the concierge said you're pensive?
ME: Aha, I hinted I was working on something about phantoms (Homeland).
ATTENDANT: Breakfast of writers (good-day).
ME: Cool.

That attendant was shrewd, and I decided to apply my breakfast-consciousness that glorious morning into some short-story 'examination' about feeling grateful for being a Catholic citizen in the States, thinking of the 'troubles' around our fare-rich 21st-Century Earth of spaces for field goals and wrought helmet-ABCD for personal distances and social ABCD (wow).

When I returned to my office post-vacation, I was once-more integrated into the normal 'overground' world of incomplete-distances readings for work-space and traffic-sense for securities and 'confidence' intelligence for Homeland (American!) dodecahedrons. Perchance that attendant was shrewd; and I felt moved to write some great American novel about meeting an immigrant in my office who wished to share with me some of his/her dark-skies renderings of why he was relieved to (suddenly) feel/be an American citizen (sure).
