Shadow Games: A Wolfen Horror

Shadow Games: A Wolfen Horror

A Story by Abishai100
"

A tale of wolfen-encounter 'touching' a worldly-image of what's (certainly) civilization 'paranoia' for materialism-bound.

"
A lycanthropy dark-tale inspired (loosely) by Wolfen (Diane Venora).

Amlan and Raki decided their special discovery of an eerie loner-huntsman in the forests of the modern Homeland was a surefire sign of lycanthropy examinations. Neither believed in wolfen-myth or werewolf-existences, but the huntsman who offered them bread inside that cabin while they were trekking during a campout weekend in that forest area where the huntsman lived also disclosed his stranger secret, that he was bitten by a wolf and became a werewolf.

HUNTSMAN: "When you become a wolfen-man (like me), you realize that the Devil himself, Lucifer/Satan the fallen-angel of the kingdom-of-God, is somehow a 'werewolf' of stalking corruption and subversion with careful precision (and malice!), and you learn that isolationism is a 'thing' of image in this Earth, and that's why I'm warning you to accept my bread-gift as a gesture of good-spiritual faith and then depart from my forest, before tonight's full-moon rises, and you shan't feel snug to return to your rosy life of social-media photo-graphics."

Of course, Amlan/Raki, two college teachers, were well-versed in ideations of Earth-life complication(s) and notions of the Devil and metaphysics feeling 'awry' and the darker myths of Earth-life involving real-world hell like IRA paranoia/fury and sub-world fears like the existence of malevolent specters/ghosts and mad science and manslayers and werewolves. They knew the Earth 'screamed' for sanity but received 'doses' of manmade destruction (for the Ego).

AMLAN: "I thought that eerie woods-man was a liberal/eccentric, like me, but after Raki/I left his cabin, somewhat drunk, and kept walking, not minding his 'private-omen' word and continued to merrily take-time to (ironically) take-up his advice and retreat from our campout, we came face-to-face that full-moon eve with the werewolf 'being' and had to conclude it was the huntsman, for what else would return you to that 'rosy' world of Selfie-commentary and normal crime(s) in our Earth if you didn't 'believe' that huntsman's tale of brain-waves mutated?"

RAKI: "I'd worked in a Chinese restaurant in San-Fran and listened to my lavishly dressed New-Year's waiter (Lee) speak to me (and my girlfriend) about the Chinese myth-belief in the existence of dragon-beings and its contour with Western lycanthropy examinations and how the 'lurking' realism of Hell was a strange 'storyboard' for accessible darkness for parallels to everyday-life of American crime and mysteries; but now I remember that waiter, whom we laughed at, as somehow very tangibly 'sane' (to me now), after Amlan/I met this werewolf (which was bad for social media surely)."

INTERVIEW: What possessed you to return to that horrifying forest?
AMLAN: We made a liquid-nitrogen (ice) gun to find that Wolfen-man.
RAKI: We're the only ones to confirm its existence and survive.
AMLAN: We took the ice-gun and froze the evil/haunted specter.
RAKI: He's still there, in that forest, frozen by a tree!
AMLAN: We're confident the right 'priest' or 'ranger' will do what's necessary.
INTERVIEW: No chance the beast will thaw-out (ha)?
AMLAN: You needn't believe us; the deed was done on a cold-winter eve.
RAKI: Liquid-nitrogen doesn't conveniently 'thaw' or destabilize (for flesh).
INTERVIEW: Sounds like you did what was (simply) quick and easy.
AMLAN: Honestly, it's all we think we'd be capable of, humbly.
INTERVIEW: Hmm...well, I may not believe you, but it's a comic-art read.
RAKI: Better than nothing (I guess).

RAKI: Maybe the huntsman was correct; about the Devil's touch on Earth?
AMLAN: Arguable; indeed, our ice-gun quick-act was (all) materialism.
RAKI: All good things come to those who wait...for mercy.
AMLAN: Even that huntsman (maybe).

Well, our two heroes decided to follow-up their 'quick-deed' with that liquid-nitrogen gun and procured a novel for their college students, a King-work concerning the haunting fear/premonition of the pure horrific terror created by Wolfen-existence(s) and why (perhaps/arguably) the Devil himself would be some kind of lurking/predatory/stealthy/focused 'werewolf' with a special 'alien-agenda' for creating pure interference...for the magazines (wow).

HUNTSMAN: "I seriously doubt you two men believe me or in me, but I've told you my account, and I hope you'll evade my alter-ego, my animal, in the forest this full-moon eve, for there's nothing that can deter your doom should you not heed these words concerning the 'intelligence' of escaping beastly-magnification(s), a touch of the Devil's curse of myth."

AMLAN: Check-out those T'wolves court cheerleaders, pal!
RAKI: They're really gorgeous (and human).
AMLAN: Well...perhaps the Devil ain't destroyed everything (yet).
RAKI: Not for social media (perhaps).
AMLAN: Me thinks we've found some 'sustainable' bonds (for this fair-Earth).

Thanks of this stirring comment/satellite, emmittfv, and your comment about 'genre' invocation (ironically) reminds me of something from my own boyhood that 'bridges' to my (currency!) interest in Wolfen matter, that awesome Sega (Genesis) game "Altered Beast" (Makoto Uchida). Worth a dot...
