==== Amlan went to the supermarket religiously, every Saturday, to get his week-long supply of food/goods and then spent the week working on his cyber-writings from home, with a modest salary for self-care and the rest of his amenities from his princely-inherited fortunes from Algeria, living rather comfortably in New England (Boston) and preparing for the anticipates Super Bowl matchup between the Patriots-Eagles. It was January 2023, and the Coronavirus tribulation on Earth was at long last subsiding/evening-out, and folks were getting back into the 'swing' of life, and even the trauma of Homeland invasion (9/11) was being put back into history's past, and in his late 30s, Amlan Satan was thinking of settling down and finding an 'American princess' to marry (hmm). JOURNAL: Going to supermarket (WalMart) on Saturdays gives one the inkling to find a princess-bride shopping/single (yes). A Dartmouth-grad who'd grown up in Philly, Satan (Amlan) had become a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, cheering for the Philles/Eagles/Flyers/Sixers and was more or less settled into New England (Boston) but never (really) became a Patriots (football) fan and was a unique Eagles cheerer for the upcoming Super Bowl matchup between the two new-gen rivals of great video-game fanfare. In fact, Eagles-Patriots micro-rivalry axes in video-game clubs had become quite the 'rave' in American culture among teens, young-adults, and 30-somethings in the United States, and they shared this newfound 'club' passion on social-media culture too (wow). AMLAN SATAN: I've played about 20 Eagles-Patriots sim-games on video-game arenas and the stats show a 65% Eagles-plusline. Sure, the new millennium had begun with some pretty 'heavy' tribulations including 9/11, the Coronavirus epidemic, and some minor North Korean nuclear-scares requiring Trump-era fine-tuned diplomacy. Amlan was at the time writing cyber-comics stories about patriot-adventures involving blood-diamond insurance corruption intelligence in British Columbia (North America) and Northern Ireland (United Kingdom) but was now settled into New England life as a Bostonian, looking to find a 'princess-bride' while at the supermarket/WalMart and reflecting more evenly/calmly about the road to paradise that America had (quite) earned since the days of post-colonial Industrialization era(s). The supermarket-Saturday 'consciousness' was now Prince Satan's newfound 'sense' of dominion/landscape transcendence and self-awareness (ha). JOURNAL: Cleaning snow/ice off car en-route to supermarket (WalMart) Saturday invokes an idea of a wife-helper for life. He met his princess-bride, a lovely Norwegian-American recent immigrant to New England named Esmerelda who happened to be an avid-fan of chess. So was Amlan, as he'd played chess all his life, and he invited her to his Bostonian residence where she brought her iconic/fantastic Wonderland-themed chess-set/board on which they spent hours comparing ideas about what/how the 'telepathy' game of symmetry/diagonal competitive strategy-thought engendered creative ways of formulating concepts/images of great decision-making coolness. ESMERELDA: You always rush your queen-out as if you're in a hurry to make a grandstand, like a boasting football-QB, Amlan. AMLAN: You're right, Ezzy; I have a 'Drew-Bledsoe' mentality of competitive edge-play (me thinks); your chess-set is amazing! ESMERELDA: My mom gifted it to me when I was in college; Alice-in-Wonderland makes for high-end chess art(s), no? AMLAN: Yes...I've fallen (deeply) for you, Ezzy, and I think (ultimately), it's a chess-credit (haha). ESMERELDA: Chess brings minds together...and (sometimes) two spirits (wow). AMLAN: Life's good on Earth, in New England, because of chess (now); still prefer the Eagles to the Patriots. ESMERELDA: That's insane; Patriots are our local team, and I'll always root for a Brady-bunch memory in Boston, darling. AMLAN: Sure; nevertheless, we've got an unspoken 'chess' chemistry here, and your mom gets the credit for the toy-religion.
