I was covering a Summer Olympics field-hockey excellence report regarding Ireland's women's field-hockey team as a vacationing race-car driver in Germany, taking time-off from my work as a New England dentist and spending nice-time on Facebook-chess.

I brought my digital typewriter with me to compose a special sportsmanship-fable about women's field-hockey in Europe/Ireland forwarding modern globalism ideations of multiculturalism and inter-religious commerce/media, highlighting Ireland's national rivalry with England/Netherlands that summer.

While in Europe for the Summer Games, I noticed a hauntingly beautiful female mannequin statue/figurine and named her Elsa, and I wondered what kinds of 'spectral-spirits' she'd offer to the Earth in this post-9/11 era of capitalism/commerce bridge(s) worries and labor(s).

Now, we all know the Olympics (Summer Games!) had become a diadem of globalism traffic and IQ-imagery, and various nations got to spotlight their talents/culture and society on the world-media stage despite economic hardships or political challenge(s). The women's field-hockey event in these Summer Games I attended represented some good quality of modern international media-presentations of 'fantastic' socialized distance(s)!

However, I wasn't the only 'philosopher' at those Summer Games, for a strange Martian had also landed and began spying on me while I was working on my sports-globalism rhetoric story on my handy-dandy digital-typewriter in my Wingate hotel-suite in Europe. The Martian ('Endymion') crept upon me invisibly and informed me that he'd been intrigued by my Earth-senses of sportsmanship journals and wanted to see if my chess-IQ translated to a robust humanism-vigor validating my entire species as 'worthy' of species-adventure storytelling for global peace doctrine(s).

ENDYMION: You're shocked by the nature of my curiosity?
ME: Sure; but I suppose these Olympics warranted 'extra-credit' fantasy, eh?

Endymion was diplomatic and very intelligent and was quite good at chess, and we drew even a nifty stalemate-condition(s) chess-play in my Wingate suite with my rook-bishop double-line against his swift queen-knight line-advance(s); and he told me, "I shall travel with you while you take your notes/photos of the Irish field-hockey team at the Olympics now (invisible!) to gesture the mannerisms of your species' 'fine' democracy!"

ENDYMION: Northern Ireland (United Kingdom) endures hard-fast sectarian 'woe(s)' for Catholic-Protestant media fear(s), eh?
ME: Sure; I suppose this shared 'media-adventure' regarding this 'secret' tale of sportsmanship-driven peace is symbolism!

ENDYMION: I wonder what the Catholics-Protestants of Belfast think of media-access to globalism/sports rhetoric for Hell?

ME: Sure; this Ireland field-hockey success-story at the Summer Games is undoubtedly a featurette of chess-IQ democracy!

ENDYMION: Perhaps you're right...

Endymion departed from my Wingate-company, whispering to me, "I shall take residence (secret) in the deep-ocean abyss of Earth as a self-exiled isolationist and use my own tech-media to continue my lifelong study of human civilization capitalism, but you must keep our sojourn/research at the Summer Games a 'dark' secret, Earth-prince!" I replied, "I'll be doing nothing more than 'casting' this alien-encounter in a democracy-symbolic 'tale' for globalism imagery, fair Martian of chess-play."

I ended up writing an entire novel about women's field-hockey (sportsmanship!) and earned a Pulitzer Prize, but this more secret journal (entry!) concerns a simple 'account' of my encounter with Endymion the Martian on that globalism-symbolic 'field of sports-dreams' that Olympics-season (Europe) and why I decided to nickname him 'Pan' (an allusion to his 'all-encompassing curiosity about species activity and socialized activity for peculiar forms of democracy).
