The People of Derry

An account of a strange 'day-of-omens' in a US-town called 'Derry' where shock-meets-witness (a faerie!) crosses with Earth dragons.

A yellow-faerie (tiny mystical winged-flying humanoid of the forest) transformed into a costumed American female 'warrior' for the Halloween season in an American town called Derry on a day of great omens.

On this day of omens, Americans would recall the shocking trauma of 9/11, when anti-Western terrorists destroyed the commerce-symbolic World Trade Center in NYC with hijacked passenger airplanes.

The yellow-faerie costumed herself as a cartoon warrior-avatar woman and walked into an American department-shopping store to serve as a witness for the proceedings of this great day of omens!

On that day of American omens, kids were celebrating the birthday of a boy named Charlie, a child of one of the executives-employees at the iconic department store in that American town called Derry, and the other kids of the other employees would join in the celebration/festivities in early October.

A Chinese man (Michael) off-work from the city skyscraper construction-site showed up at the very-same department store with his handy-dandy walkie-talkie and was using it while he'd still been uniformed in his work-site helmet/gear and was walking into the department store.

Another individual, a twin of a major media-figure, also walked into the very-same department store, a woman named Juliet, certain that nothing 'special' would occur on that special day of omens the yellow-faerie was present, costumed as an entertainment-avatar 'heroine' of the American/media storybook.

STORE EXECUTIVE: We've got outstanding Halloweentime decorations for this season/day of kids' celebrations of birthday!

Also, furthermore, an off-duty policeman was at the very-same American department store at that American town called Derry with his wife and daughter and his wife's visiting cousin, Boothe.

Suddenly, the PA-announcing radio system inside the Derry (American) dept.-store sounded the alarm-message that the American President (David Derry) had been assassinated, by an as-of-yet uncategorized 'homegrown' (American) terrorist (a 'stranger' named Satan)!

JULIET: Oh, goodness, how'd we anticipate such a thing in Derry/American, during this Halloween kids' b-day celebration?

BOOTHE: My sister and her off-duty cop-husband were shocked and thought this was a 'true' day of American omens!

MICHAEL: I can't believe it; I used my off-duty walkie-talkie to radio my co-workers/pals and informed them of the horror!

YELLOW-FAERIE: Believe it or not, folks --- the only 'true witness' of this omen-day are kids, cops, workers, and mannequins.

That's not wholly true. The only 'true' witness of this day-of-omens inside the Derry dept.-store is a dog named Cujo who'd been waiting outside feeling foolish/impatient, as his owner/pal left a sign on his chest reading, "Dad told me to wait here outside [while he'd been shopping inside!]"

YELLOW-FAERIE: I'd never forget that 'fateful' day in Derry/USA; two years later, transformed/registered as a human-American woman named Derry, I married a nice Algerian-Greek man, an IRA 'gentleman' named Amlan, and settled in Derry (USA) as a practicing nurse and would recount that strange day-of-omens as a 'good premonition' of my eventually 'democrat-symbolic' marriage to a human-man who represented modern civilization (Earth) dollars (since he was a man of 'money' diet)!

The moral of this story is that 9/11 will never be forgotten, and any day of 'omens' endured after such a day will simply be 'cataloged' as yet another 'day-of-omens' for Americans under the 'raw stress' of Earthly woe(s). Nevertheless, the goodly yellow-faerie, now a married US woman named 'Derry' (living in a 'depression' American town named Derry!) considers this 'practice' of 'surfing' the dark tides of humanity's disaster(s) a signpost for the 'metaphysics' and 'philosophy' of living doctorates. Isn't that what America's really about --- 'true' dance(s)?
