This is the story of a young defiant European wanderer from northern Ireland who became a daring sea-man and protege of a renowned sea-captain named Bligh who regarded the young man as ambitious, intelligent, and dangerous.

The ship they sailed on to go around the Cape of Good Hope was the Bounty, and it was glorious. It still endures to this day, but its sailing days for admiralty are over. This was the ship, the Bounty, for which Captain Bligh had to answer for when he was questioned upon his ultimate retreat/return to Europe after being cast-out from the crew by the defiant young man who'd been his prodigy, the young Fletcher Christian.

CAPTAIN BLIGH: I maintain that upon the gracious/safe return to my home with my loyal crew, I'd done no wrong for Bounty!

I'm the great-descendant of Fletcher Christian, one of his only descendants in Europe after the somewhat playboy had vanished from the Earth with rumors he'd stayed in Tahiti and hid in a cave with his Tahitian wife and eventual children/descendants after abandoning the Bounty and refusing to return to Europe with Captain Bligh alongside those who performed the rebellious 'munity' on the Bounty against the famous Captain. I remain in Europe and relay this tale about my supposed ancestor to you now.

CAPTAIN BLIGH: I maintain this sea-inquiry regarding 'mutiny' on the Bounty was in no way my direct doing or undoing!

It was said that the Cape of Good Hope was too difficult to navigate to on the Bounty because of severe storms that sailing season when young Fletcher Christian and his obstinate captain Bligh sought to sail around the Hope and deliver a special biological harvest-plant ('breadfruit') on behalf of Europe. Fletcher demanded that the Bounty redirect to Tahiti and dock safely until the storm(s) subsided, which the obstinate Captain Bligh agreed to order for the entire crew in all grace, but when they arrived on the idyllic island, Fletcher and his mates, loyal to his vision of sea-faring, fell in love. Fletcher himself was said to have wed one of the Tahitian beauties, the daughter of King Tynah on Tahiti.

Today, a famous gold cup remains in Europe in testament to this legendary 'tale' about the mutiny on the Bounty, and Captain Bligh, having been cleared of all 'formal' or official charges, maintained to his death that he knew not of the defiant Fletcher Christian's fate or that of his mates who refused to return to Europe and remained in Tahiti. It was this incident of 'mutinous' stance that comprises the fable proportion of the tale of the Bounty. It was Fletcher who insisted that after the obstinate Captain Bligh ordered a stormy and unwise sailing around the Hope during the sea-storm(s), he'd relinquished his 'sea authority' to order all the crew of the Bounty to evacuate Tahiti and leave it behind immediately upon being refreshed by the kingdom of Tynah to return to Europe. This gold cup, a symbol of the tale of the Bounty, remains in a Euro-musem to this day!

The residents of Tahiti today still carry-on in ancient festivals/rituals, and it's not known or said really what happened to the defiant members of the Bounty who defied Captain Bligh alongside their new sea-master Fletcher Christian. It's simply assumed Christian his loyal rebels 'integrated' into Tynah's kingdom in a safe 'haven' away from the Bounty, Bligh, and Bedlam. To this day, the festive inhabitants of Tahiti island celebrate their old customs and perhaps are hidden as grouped descendants of Fletcher Christian and his mates of the Bounty who refused to return to Europe with obstinate Bligh.

These days, with all the 'troubles' of Western civilization such as Northern Ireland and the Russo-Ukrainian War, it's a poignant note to consider the parameters of human vision in times of great commands and defiance or governance woe(s) and rebellion. The tale of the Bounty serves to remind us all of the sacred institution(s) of governance dialogue and open speech about the very human nature of civilization fitness.

Today's youngsters, engaged in new forms of socialized rituals such as Mardi Gras in New Orleans and participant 'fans' in modern media games/activities like Mortal Kombat (video-games!) are often found as 'masquerading' musketeers celebrating a new generation of festivity and human liberty, casting new visages of both romance...and social costume. What would this modern generation of socialized fashion say about the 'democratic' story of the Bounty?

AMLAN SATAN (Mortal Kombat video-game fan): I play games online and Lego ship-building games with my son Damian!

Perhaps (arguably) the tale of the 'mutiny' on the Bounty serves to remind us of the inherent value(s) of commands-driven intelligence, defiance-driven decisions, and paradise-envisioned imaginations. Perhaps the Bounty will always remind us of the timeless importance of evaluations of liberty...in times of utter darkness.
