Art Heist: Replica

Art Heist: Replica

A Story by Abishai100
"

A master-thief and capitalism-corruption infiltration-agent performs a staged art-switch from an evil baron's museum dominion in Europe.

An art-heist inspired by The Art of the Steal (Kurt Russell). Thanks so much for reading (and enjoy!),

Amsterdam is where the thief Amlan Satan (code-name: Storm-Shadow) is planning the heist of the Mona Lisa painting housed/stored in a Dutch museum by the blood-diamond baron Goldfinger who's been using gems to finance terrorism.

SATAN: I'll be performing a double-heist and switch of the Mona Lisa to outwit Baron Goldfinger's dominion.

GOLDFINGER: The Mona Lisa is sacred to me, and no dirty thief will get his dirty fingers on it!

Goldfinger purchased the Mona Lisa painting with specious financing from his terrorism-profits, which is why the infiltration-agent Storm-Shadow (Amlan Satan) is plotting this double-heist/switch with a replica he has in his Amsterdam apartment.

Satan marches into the Dutch museum with the Goldfinger Mona Lisa inside wearing a maudlin costume and claiming he's the terrorism-infiltrator named 'Thespian' as he shows his toy water-rifle to the museum manager.

SATAN ('Thespian'): This water-rifle is filled with acid, and unless you allow me to swap Goldfinger's Mona Lisa with the replica in my briefcase, I'll sully some other paintings in your prestigious museum with my acid-gun!

Thespian is allowed 5 minutes to make the switch so the museum manager may avoid bad press, and he does so in private quarters and takes care not to sully anything inside the exhibit and then transfers funds for the painting in the Interpol-relations underground as he claimed for assets in his Swiss account. The manager then informs Goldfinger of this terrorism-infiltration agent, which forces Goldfinger to perform a bank security check.

BANK MANAGER: We'll be sure not to let any more security leaks regarding Goldfinger's lavish accounts with us!

However, just two weeks later, 'Thespian' (Amlan Satan) once again marches into the very-same Dutch museum and explains to the museum manager, in the same costume and wielding the very-same acid-rifle, that he intends to perform the actual switch of the Mona Lisa (since the last time he opted to just keep the original inside the museum exhibit!). The manager has once more no choice but to let the master-thief perform the action to avoid scars on the museum and bad press and let Interpol-relations and authorities clear up this 'scandal' with the baron.

Goldfinger inspected the Mona Lisa after the claimed switch was made the first time and discovered the original was still in the museum exhibition frame. He then had the painting switched with the replica, which is what 'Thespian' the thief (Amlan Satan) apparently switched again (the second time!) for that second strange terrorism-infiltration heist. Thespian then sent a notice to the Amsterdam newspapers, "Goldfinger may still have the Mona Lisa in his possession, but let no baron think that the world of art will help corruption evade detectives studying terrorism-financing in Europe today," before he boards an escape-flight on KLM to Switzerland to take his real commission for the infiltration mission of Goldfinger's media-dominion!

Amlan Satan ('Thespian') retires to Toronto where he invests his earnings in the Blue Jays baseball-team and meanwhile Goldfinger's being more actively investigated by blood-diamond detectives who're now suddenly more cautious of infiltration-agents coordinating more serious invasions of terrorism-financing barons in Europe. Satan/Thespian is now enjoying Blue Jays games with his girlfriend Esmerelda under the protection of Interpol-relations. There was nothing ever actually stolen!

SATAN: I hope they remember this Storm-Shadow mission for anti-terrorism...and not 'acid-gun' dollars.
