Shiva/Saraswati: Children of the Corn*A Story by Abishai100Two romantic deities try to help mankind during the Great Tribulation and discover a magic of shared dawn.
I've always been fascinated by religion re-presented through the colored lens of mythology, and this cross-over comics-styled mythology adaptation borrows both from Hindu and Christian mythology, in an End-Times vignette about the 'drama' of wrought diamonds (and art). Enjoy,
---- ---- ==== Shiva, god of destruction/meditation, was confounded by his rivalry with the other heavenly gods, including Brahma (god of creationism), Krishna (god of negotiation), and Vishnu (god of protection). He'd also discovered that his two wives, goddesses, Durga (goddess of governance) and Kali (goddess of anarchy) were very displeased with him and their unhappy marriage and were involved in adulterous extra-marital affairs, possibly with gods like Vishnu and the underworld demon Ravana. All of this put a real stress into the consciousness of Lord Shiva, who otherwise liked to meditate on the peaceful face of existence. He was a big fan of comic books and video games, and he adored children and animals. He didn't want this dark complexity in his imagination. ---- Shiva turned to the younger and radiant goddess Saraswati, goddess of learning/music. She sat on her little throne and played her gorgeous sitar musical instrument, accompanied by her animal-friend the lovely peacock. Saraswati spent her days in contemplation of the value of learning and the inspiration behind music and metrics. This was the sort of youthful innocence and magic that drew in Shiva, who already felt dethroned by the other gods and his own two goddess-wives. Shiva sought out Saraswati for real companionship and counsel and friendship...and a secret heated romance. This was the beginning of an unlikely adventure for the two deities, an odd if lucky couple. ---- Shiva learned on Earth, there was great turbulence. The AntiChrist, adversary of life, was on the Earth creating thrones of confusion and power, and meanwhile, the evil kings and politicians of the world were creating spheres of anti-capitalism terrorism and using blood-diamonds to justify forged bridges to ruthless underworld commerce. This was an age of great self-gratification, fueled by the convenient media which had almost become like a weather-system, though of gray depression! Shiva knew this was the End of Days, bringing with it war-imagination (e.g., 9/11) and the Plague (e.g., Coronavirus). He descended to Earth as an Interpol-infiltrator and subversionist of blood-diamond terrorism-commerce and tried to undo the realms of media schizophrenia regarding capitalism created by the AntiChrist. ---- Shiva discovered that the goddess Saraswati, his new secret sweetheart, was also on Earth grappling with this Great Tribulation. She'd been working as an airline stewardess, delivering toys to children around the world to help them forget about the malady and malice of this End of Days terrorism/tribulation! Saraswati had however tragically become an 'angel-prisoner' of these End-Times damned and forlorn 'children of the corn' who lacked any form of youthful inspiration from elders. She'd become a sort of 'slave' to these children and was forced to deal with their hidden fury and desperately sought to just serve them in some hopeful capacity as a spiritual psychiatrist. Shiva wisely noted that if unhelped, Saraswati would undoubtedly be destroyed! ---- Shiva used his influence and wits to help Saraswati become a master distribution specialist of Christian stained-glass art, which she'd share with the children around the world she so dearly loved and respected. In turn, these forlorn 'children of the corn' in the Great Tribulation, would once again find the basic primal courage to embrace the divine goddess as not a slave of necessity but as an angel of counsel. This was Shiva's real gift to his secret sweetheart Saraswati. When the Tribulation was over, and humanity once again sought the peaceful humility/simplicity of shared civilization, Shiva whisked away his secret sweetheart Saraswati to his mountain in the heavens and made love to her, thanking her also for her earnest service to children. ---- SHIVA: You know, the other deities will remark of our scandalous love-affair! SARASWATI: We're heroes too...not just strange bedfellows, Shiva. SHIVA: I know that; but I wonder if our experience has infinitely wed us together! SARASWATI: Indeed it has. SHIVA: Well, then, should we keep this Tribulation-romance an eternal secret? SARASWATI: Why make waves? SHIVA: True. SARASWATI: Besides, it seems that you've got duties to your goddess-wives. SHIVA: I doubt they'll remain with me forever, Saraswati. SARASWATI: Why's that your thinking, Shiva? SHIVA: I think the other deities view me as an angel of darkness, not a sage of advice! SARASWATI: I see. SHIVA: You, on the other hand, offer me feelings of magic and companionship. SARASWATI: We have a solid sex-life, Shiva. SHIVA: Indeed we do. SARASWATI: Well, we might keep this all a secret...a memory like a golden shield. SHIVA: True! SARASWATI: I'll remember what you did for me and my beloved children darlings on Earth. SHIVA: I'm glad. SARASWATI: I love you...and always will...in my own way. SHIVA: Perhaps children will remember our dogma in their creativity! 0000 ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) ---- {Shiva/Saraswati} © 2021 Abishai100 |
