Here's a fun Easter-toasting crime-noir fanfiction inspired by one of the great modern gems of cinema, The Usual Suspects (Kevin Spacey). Happy Easter friends (signing off finally!),
----
==== It was Easter in Amsterdam. A group of criminals prepared to celebrate the Catholicism-oriented ritual with their respective families and friends. However, they're summarily rounded up for a police inspection by an appointed Dutch inspector named Emile Kuyt. Suddenly, Easter egg plans are no longer glittering in colorful Amsterdam for these underworld suspects! ![]() The criminals/suspects are as follows --- Todd Hockney (irate mechanic-man), Michael McManus (cool sniper), Fred Fenster (smuggler), Dean Keaton (mob boss), and Verbal Kint (autistic mathematician). Dutch detective Emile Kuyt refers to this iconic roundup in Amsterdam as the Usual Suspects sarcastically! ![]() Now, we must flash forward to two weeks later. Verbal Kint has been the only arrested survivor of a terrible dockside explosion and fire by a drug-boat in Amsterdam. All the iconic Usual Suspects the Dutch detective (Kuyt) was investigating --- are apparently dead. The autistic eccentric Kint insists to Kuyt that the criminals were rounded up for a booby-trap by the vengeful crime-master Keyser Soze who's betrayed in some fashion by all these criminals, including the wealthy and respected mob-boss Keaton. Kuyt doesn't believe a word of Kint is saying, however. ![]() KUYT: I think these Usual Suspects were framed for something, Kint. KINT: No, no, it was all a masterplan cooked up by the evil Keyser Soze. KUYT: Why'd he randomly select these criminals to punish for revenge, Kint? KINT: Maybe they're all...expendable, detective Kuyt. ![]() Dutch detective Kuyt has confirmed however that the Usual Suspects were indeed rounded up for this terrible dockside explosion and fire involving a drug-boat containing what was anticipated to be a good deal of cocaine and other deadly narcotics. Verbal Kint keeps suggesting to Detective Kuyt that this mysterious and legendary and eerily unrecognizable underworld crime-master known as 'Keyser Soze' was the brains behind this sabotage and sought only to eliminate these Usual Suspects for some kind of conspiracy plot or revenge! KUYT: Kint, I think Keaton is actually Keyser Soze! KINT: You think he survived and placed a burnt body for cops to find at the docks? KUYT: Yes, I do! KINT: Seems like an awful waste of space, detective. KUYT: What? KINT: Why'd Keaton care about Soze profits in Chechnya when he's a mob-pirate in the Bronx? KUYT: You believe Keaton's just a pawn in Soze's elaborate and dark game, Verbal? KINT: Yes, I do. ![]() Detective Kuyt and his associate at the Amsterdam station are baffled by the case. Why're the Usual Suspects rounded up and then dumped by an exploding drug-boat dockside in Amsterdam while the veiled and mysterious Keyser Soze emerges as a mystical suspect himself in the testimony of the only apparent survivor, Verbal Kint? Kuyt tells his associate that mob-boss Keaton had a greater role in this conspiracy than anyone really has discovered. The investigation continues. ![]() The dockside massacre is intense. All the Usual Suspects are found dead. Their bodies are covered in blankets. The police and Detective Kuyt and his underlings are confounded and look like idiots. There was a good deal of drugs here, and Amsterdam doesn't need this negative media. Was Keaton trying to move drugs for the mafia in the USA? Why is Kint the only survivor? Why does Kint believe Soze is interested in this sabotage-like criminal event in Europe? KINT: All of the Usual Suspects were highly skilled, imaginative, nefarious, and intrigued by criminal enterprises! ![]() Detective Kuyt discovered that Keyser Soze really did have a good solid reason to hold a grudge against each of the Usual Suspects. He further deduces from Verbal Kint's testimony that the mysterious crime-master may indeed have been staging some kind of narcotics sabotage in Europe while moving crime sectors in his favor so his enemies wouldn't doubt his authority for perhaps a future move on a more designed market, such as blood diamonds in South Africa and Antwerp. ![]() VERBAL KINT: Don't pursue Keyser Soze, because it'll feel like the Devil got the better of ya. KUYT: I suddenly get the eerie suspicion that the man we just let loose, Kint, was actually Keyser Soze. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2021 Abishai100 |
